Thursday Thoughts

Well, as is typical, it's been awhile since I posted.  It's harder than I thought to fit some writing time into my regular schedule.

Hard to believe it's May already.  We had a beautiful day for Beltane so spent it outside.  Since then, we've had about 50/50 rain and sun.  We seem to be getting most of our April showers in May but at least it seems that we're getting the May flowers despite that.  My lilac tree is in full bloom and I couldn't be happier.  I adore my lilacs!!!  We haven't actually done much of our flower planting yet as today is actually the official "last frost day" for our area.  Hopefully Saturday I can get started.

Just a little over 6 weeks before Bean is due!  Hard to believe it's coming so quickly!  We've started putting together our homebirth kit but that seems to be about it.  I guess we should really start doing some preparations huh??

Monday Madness

I'm not a huge fan of Mondays, although, let's face it, very few people are.  I was reading a great article today that talks about "new beginnings" and that Monday is a good day for that.  So, in an attempt to look at life in a much more positive light, Monday is my "new beginning" day.  Have I done anything to celebrate my new week...well, not really.  I was proud of the healthy food I made for the Munchkin and I today (no crappy snacks today!!) and how well I handled him despite the all-day crankiness (patience is not one of my virtues sadly).  Definitely better than nothing I suppose!

All that being said, I have no idea what was up with my Munchkin today.  He had two naps AND slept in the car on the way home from Costco...very odd for my go-go-go little boy.  We're guessing either a growth spurt or he's coming down with something...desperately hoping for the former though!
Munchkin #2 has been bopping around in my belly all day...almost to the point that I was concerned there was too much movement (is that even possible??).  I'll be shocked if this baby is a girl instead of another boy, but only time will tell!  Just 3 months to go!!

First Musings

Reading other people's blogs have become a new favourite past-time of mine and it inspired me to try and write one myself.  Ten minutes ago this blog was something completely different...something I created a year ago, almost to the day but quickly forgot about.  I was looking back at that one entry (pathetic isn't it?) and thought to myself how sad it was that I didn't have a whole story to look back on.  So I'm back, with a vengence!

I'm not sure what this blog is going to be...maybe a diary of sorts.  Journaling was something I did often as a teen, but haven't really done a lot of it since getting married and having my son (really, who has the time??)  But with baby #2 on the way, I feel like this could be a way of recording memories and perhaps even a way to help me figure out who I am.

Aside from a wife and mom, I'm also a newly, self-dedicated Pagan.  Well, "newly" meaning I self-dedicated a little less than a year ago (just before Lammas).  I struggle a lot with my spirituality which is funny because "spirituality" has always been such a huge part of my life.  I grew up part of one of the main stream, organized religions, and both my mother and my mother-in-law are very dedicated to their religion...which leads to a bit of a conundrum....hence the fact that I'm a "broom closet mama".  I hope one day I'll be able to live openly as a Pagan, but in the meantime, I'm ok with keeping things on the DL.

Aside from all that, we brought our Munchkin to the sugar bush today.  He's only 18 months, so obviously didn't really get what was going on, althought he thoroughly enjoyed eating a breakfast drenched in fresh maple syrup followed by taffy on the snow.  Hard to believe he actually napped for 2 hours after all of that!

Random Thought of the Day: Two servings of beans with breakfast makes for a smelly house!
